Clinical Psychologist
Justine Clark is a Clinical Psychologist with an MBA and a Masters in Genetic Counselling. Justine considers herself a behaviouralist and uses a biopsychosocial model of care over the short, medium, and long-term for change. She has over 20 years’ experience with a particular interest in managing adjustment, trauma, and grief post injury. Justine is adept at helping adults with disabilities, both physical and cognitive, including assisting adults with intellectual disabilities, autism, brain injury and post-concussion symptoms. And finally, as relationship quality impacts our quality of life, couple and relationship therapy is also available.
Justine can also incorporate a variety of different therapies; cognitive, acceptance and commitment, dialectical behaviour therapy, interpersonal therapy, positive psychology, and Australian Indigenous Practice Wayapa Wuurrk in a holistic way to meet her patients needs over time.
Justine’s competence in delivering treatments has been developed from years of clinical experience, commencing in government disability services (behavioural intervention service), moving into child and adolescent mental health, acute public mental health, private psychiatric hospitals, university counselling service, public brain injury rehabilitation services (for the last 12 years) and direct clinical care as a private practitioner over 20 years.
This broad experience has enabled Justine to hone her diagnostic skills and enables her to be flexible if something does not seem to be working with a patient to adopt a different therapeutic modality, whilst still being guided by the underlying principle of what behaviour needs to be addressed according to the client and/or significant others involved in their care.
Patients can be seen under Workcover, CTP, privately and under NDIS if plan managed.
